Where is the best place to buy pottery clay?

I live In Reno, Nevada and the pickings are slim here. Where can I buy it online, or in California? What is the best clay for begginers? What is the cheapest clay I can get?

  1. You can buy 25 pound bags/boxes of white potters clay at Michaels or Hobby Lobby and that is likely to be your best choice. You can buy other varieties at places like Seattle Pottery Supply in the Internet, but shipping the heavy stuff raises the cost the greater the distance. I had to go to a map to place Reno and out of town, Sacramento might be your best source but there seem to be a number of ceramic supply places, some being industrial, in or near Reno as shown here A good place with have clay in various quantities, tools, books, and friendly advice. http://maps.google.com/maps?near=Reno,+NV&geocode=&q=ceramic+supplies&f=l&hl=en&sll=40.027614,-119.816895&sspn=8.410371,10.92041&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=12
  2. You might want to try Dick Blick online art supplies; they often have good deals on clay.
