Do ceramics/pottery studios let you make your own pottery?
I want to take my girlfriend to a pottery studio. I think it would be a lot of fun to make a special custom piece of pottery for each other. Where can find information on this? I live in the Metro Detroit area.

- go romeo! i think you need to take a class or have connections and already know how to properly use a pottery wheel

- If you go to one which is there for students and not a purely commercial one. There are pottery studios which offer classes. Do you have experience with ceramics? If you do, you may be able to negotiate a rate for one time building and later glazing session. If not, you should take a class. At least one of you two should know what you are doing, otherwise it is probably not going to turn out that great. And of course one visit won't be enough to finish a pottery piece. And you will find info about local pottery studios in the yellow pages. They also may advertise in community newspapers and probably have a webpage.
