where to buy some pottery clay?

i want to buy someclay to work with but I dont know where to buy some I have a pottery weel and it came with clay but I dont know where to buy somemore thnx

  4. I am a potter and i buy clay from a clay supplier, that i am lucky enough to live relatively close to. It depends on where you live, but here are a few places that you can buy clay from, either by driving there or you can have it shipped to you.   5. I saw refills for a low cost wheel at Michael's and JoAnne fabrics...Also, try looking in the section where polymer clay is located...I saw some close to the shelves there.
  6. Check your yellow pages under "Pottery Supplies" or "Ceramics supplies". Make sure you tell the supplier you need clay for throwing pots on a wheel and what temp you are firing too. There are many types of clay. Some are better for throwing than others. I've been potting for 20 years and I'm still in love with it. Sounds like you are enjoying it too.

  9. A lot of craft stores can order clay for you if they do not carry their own supply. Do you know the type of clay that came with the potters wheel? I would suppose it was a wet stoneware clay. Or you can call or write the distributor of your pottery wheel to see if you could order more clay from them. You can get in touch with your local city college art department to find where they order their clay, or the local high school art department may help you. Here is a site you may wish to check out.
