  1. You could try http://www.lagunaclay.com/ see if they have a distributor near you. The distributors know a lot about what groups are doing locally LagunaClay has a distributor 8 miles from me, I go to his shop I can also ask for special orders. That saves a lot on shipping costs. He combines orders to get enough for a shipment. I think a shipment could be a semi-trailer. I just get a small amount at a time - 100 pounds - 2 boxes of 50 pounds Low cost UPS shipping would be more expensive than the clay. You will probably want to take a class to help learning how to throw pots. You will also want to learn to glaze and fire your pieces. Classes can be a lot of fun. You see what other people are up to. Be sure to go and look at the art fairs that will be popping up this summer. You may want to invest in a kiln to fire the pieces. This can not be done in a regular oven. I took a different path. I joined a pottery guild. I pay to be able to use equipment instead of owning the equipment myself. My first instructor was a founder of the local pottery guild. Take a class before you invest too much in equipment.
